Local Government has the moral and social duty to act as a bulwark in the difficult economic and social situation that our country is going through. Municipalities, being the structures closest to the citizen, must take initiatives and implement programs and actions that will maintain and strengthen social cohesion.

The Municipality of Karpenisi, in this context, has created six (6) social structures in order to relieve vulnerable groups in need of help and support.

“Meals of Love” is about providing free meals to our fellow human beings who are truly in need.

The “Social Grocery Store” aims to cover the basic survival needs of needy citizens of our Municipality.

During the winter, the municipality supports its citizens with the “Distribution of Firewood and Oil”.

The Open Elderly Protection Centers (KAPI) is an institution that defends the social rights of the elderly.

The Community Center is the citizen’s first point of contact with the social services of each Municipality.

The program is aimed at elderly people who are not fully self-sufficient and people with motor impairments.
