
The mayor
Christos Kakavas was born on November 11, 1980 in Karpenisi, Evrytania, to Ioannis Kakavas, originally from Domianoi, and Magdalene Kelesi, originally from Papadia, Evrytania.
In 1998, he graduated from the General Lyceum of Karpenisi and was admitted with a scholarship to the Department of Statistics and Insurance Science of the University of Piraeus. While studying, he worked in the catering industry.
He completed his studies and became the holder of a Master’s Degree in Financial Analysis and Banking Administration with a grade of excellent and with a scholarship at the same University.
Since 2006, he has been working in the banking sector (Citibank, Eurobank, Piraeus) in central branches of Athens and since 2013 he was transferred to Karpenisi at Piraeus Bank where he currently holds the rank of manager.
In 2019, he was elected the first municipal councilor of the Municipality of Karpenisi with the combination “Change of Course” with Dimitrios Lerogiannis.
From 2019 to 2022, he served as president of the Karpenisi Swimming Club.
His interests focus on the field of sports where he participated as a player in the Atlas basketball club, (which emerged as the 3rd ESKASE champion in 2017) and on activities with his family.
He is married to teacher Maria Kremopoulou and they have four children: Ioannis, Vasilios, Magdalene and Nikiforos.
