The facilities of the municipality of Karpenisi are repeatedly preferred by top football and basketball teams, as well as other sports clubs and distinguished athletes!
Karpenisi has one of the most complete sports centers in Europe, capable of hosting a multitude of sporting events. National football and basketball teams, track and field champions and Olympic medalists are just a few of those who have used its perfect sports facilities to complete their preparations, just before their admirable journey in European and world sports.
There are two grass football fields, one of which even has stands, as well as a tartan track. There is also a 128 m long throwing field with grass. All outdoor fields are illuminated with professional-level floodlights.
In addition, there are nine sports fields and a 2 km long natural jogging track.
The indoor facilities include an indoor training center with a team sports hall, an 80 m long track with three lanes, two fitness rooms, changing rooms, a sauna, federation offices, a physiotherapy room and a Medical Ergometric Center.
The Municipal Swimming Pool of the Municipality of Karpenisi is located at the entrance to the city, at the 1st km. of Karpenisi – Lamia.
Its facilities have hosted top aquatics events, such as the final 4 of men’s and women’s water polo, as well as swimming competitions.
It has a swimming pool with 10 lanes of 25 meters and another small auxiliary pool, as well as changing rooms, gyms and stands for 1000 people.
The Municipal Stadium of Karpenisi “Dimitra Papaspyrou” includes an outdoor football field with plastic turf and tartan of six lanes, an indoor gym for basketball and volleyball, as well as an indoor weight gym. It is used by local clubs. It is located at 36 Charilaou Trikoupi Street.
